Before preparing first cup of coffee
• Read operating and safety instructions carefully!
• Check voltage in your home (has to correspond with
information at the bottom of the coffeemaker).
• Insert plug – cord can be lenghtend or shortened by
using the cable storage (
).
• Clean inner parts of coffeemaker by two complete
brewing processes only with clear water (see “Coffee
Preparation” Point 1 – 8, but without using filterbag
and coffee).
Coffee Preparation
1. Open the filter ().
2. Fill in needed amount of fresh, cold water into the
watertank (
). By means of cup scale on the water-
tank (
) you can define the desired amount
of cups
(small cup symbol = 90ml ready coffee per
cup, big cup
symbol = 125ml ready coffee per cup).
3. Fold a Melitta
®
filterbag size 1x4
®
and place it in the
filter (
).
4. Fill needed amount of ground coffee
(recommendati-
on: 1measuring spoon = 6g per cup)
into the filter.
5. Close the filter.
6. By using the Aroma-Selector you can choose the
coffee result – from mild to strong – to your personal
taste (
).
7. Place the therm jug with the lid into the appliance.
Drip-stop (
) is opened. Jug lid is needed to activate
the drip stop. Using the jug without the lid the drip
stop did not work, this may result in overflows.
8. Switch on the appliance – on/off switch lights up (
).
The brewing process starts.

The appliance is equipped with an auto-shut-off function
– appliances shuts off after 15 min. automatically.

For pouring out coffee press lever on the jug lid.
Switch appliance off between two brewing cycles and
leave it to cool down for approx. 5 minutes.
Cleaning and maintenance
• Before cleaning always remove plug from socket.
• Never immerse appliance or cord in water.
• Use a soft damp cloth to clean the exterior.
• Filter insert is dishwasher proof.
•
Descaling: Regularly descaling ensures perfect
operation. We recommend to descale the appliance
after every 40 filtrations. Prepare and use descaler as
advised on the package by the descaler manufacturer.
Therm jug:
• Never stir jug content with metal spoon, do not put
in ice-cubes or carbonated drinks to avoid damages of
glass insert.
•
Never stand the jug on a hotplate or use in microwave
oven.
• Avoid extreme variations in temperature.
• After fall down or heavier shocks glass insert may
break. Do not drink the content because glass
splitters may be inside.
• Do not lay down filled jug – liquid may come out.
• Do not use for milk products or baby food, bacteria
may develop.

When the appliance is switched on, some parts
become hot. Do not touch – risk of burning!

Always keep appliance out of the reach of children.

Always pull the plug out of the socket before cleaning
or in case of absence for a long time.

Never immerse the appliance in water.

Do not use hot water. Only fresh, cold water should
be used to fill in the watertank.

Do not open the filter lid during the coffee brewing
process.

break. Do not drink the content because glass
splitters may be inside.

This appliance is not dedicated for use by persons
(incl. children) with limited physical, sensorical or
mentally ability or for lack of experience or/and for
want of knowledge unless they are supervised by a
person, who is responsible for their security or got
instruction how the appliance has to be used.

Always keep the appliance out of the reach of chil-
dren, children shall be supervised to secure that they
will not play with the appliance.

The replacement of the cord and all other repairs
must be carried out by authorized Melitta Customer
Service Centres only or by a person of similar qualifi-
cation.
This appliance is designed to be used in households and
similar use as e.g.:
• in kitchens for staff in shops, offices and other

• by clients in hotels, motels and other residence facili-

Avant la première utilisation
• Lire attentivement le mode d’emploi.
• Vérifier que la tension d’alimentation de votre
cafetière correspond bien à celle de votre installation
électrique.
• Régler la longueur du cordon d’alimentation en
utilisant le range-cordon (
).
• Nettoyer la cafetière en la faisant fonctionner deux
fois de suite avec de l’eau claire (sans café).
Préparation du café
1. Ouvrir le porte filtre en le pivotant vers la droite ().
2. Avec l’aide de la graduation du réservoir ou de la
verseuse, verser la quantité d’eau souhaitée dans le
réservoir (
). Le symbole “petite tasse” = 90 ml de
café par tasse. Le symbole “grande tasse” = 125 ml de
café par tasse.
3. Ouvrir le filtre Melitta
®
taille 1x4 et le placer dans le
support filtre ().

Mettre le café moulu dans le filtre.
Recommandation: 1cuillère à doser = 6g / tasse.
5. Fermer le couvercle.
6. Sélectionner le type de préparation souhaitée – de
douce à corsée – en utilisant le sélecteur d’arome
(
).
7. Placer la verseuse isotherme sous le support filtre. Le
stop-goutte est ainsi activé. (
).
8. Mettre l’appareil en marche. Le bouton on/off s’allume
(
). La filtration commence.
9. L´appareil est équipée d’un arrêt auto matique de la
cafetière au bout de 15 minutes.
Eteindre l’appareil entre deux utilisations et le laisser
refroidir pendant 5 minutes environ.
Nettoyage et entretien
• Débrancher toujours l’appareil avant de commencer à
le nettoyer.
• Ne jamais plonger l’appareil dans l’eau.
• Nettoyer l’extérieur de la cafetière à l’aide d’un
chiffon humide.
• Le support filtre est lavable au lave-vaisselle.
•
Détartrage: Un détartrage régulier et dès les
premières utilisations assure le bon fonctionnement de
votre appareil. Melitta recommande de détartrer votre
cafetière toutes les 40 utilisations avec le détartrant
Cafetière ou le détartrant Appareils Electriques de
Melitta.
Consignes de sécurité

Quand l’appareil est en marche, ne pas toucher les
parties chaudes: risque de brûlure!

Ne pas laisser l’appareil à la portée des enfants.
!
Toujours débrancher l’appareil avant de le nettoyer ou
pendant une absence prolongée.

Ne jamais plonger l’appareil dans l’eau.
!
Ne pas utiliser la verseuse isotherme dans un four à
micro-ondes.
!
Ne pas utiliser d’eau chaude. Mettre uniquement de
l’eau fraîche dans le réservoir d’eau.
!
Ne pas ouvrir le couvercle pendant le cycle de la
préparation du café.
!
Le verre de la verseuse peut se casser suite à une
chute ou un choc violent. Ne pas boire le contenu car
des débris de verre pourraient s’y trouver.

Il n’est pas recommandé que l’appareil soit utilisé par
des personnes (y compris des enfants) ayant des
capacités mentales ou physiques limitées, ou bien sans
expérience et/ou connaissance, à moins que ces per-
sonnes ne soient assistées par une personne responsa-
ble de leur sécurité qui leur donne des instructions
quant à l’utilisation de l’appareil.

Toujours mettre l’appareil hors de portée des enfants
